Getting started

Chapter 3 of 10

Your workspace

Where Home, Projects, credits, and Settings live, and what to click on day one.

After you sign up, you land in your workspace. In the sidebar you will see Home, Study builder, and Moderated sessions. Farther down are Personas, your panels (AI Panel, Your Panel, GenPop Panel), and a Library with Projects, Studies, and Briefs.

The map

Home. Your starting point for recent work and a path into new studies or projects. On day one, this is where you notice that the account is live and that you have credits to spend on AI Panel runs.

Projects. Where a decision and its evidence stay together. A Project can hold a Brief, one or more studies, Findings, and related live sessions. The lab’s Checkout redesign is the mental model: one decision, several ways of asking, one place to look back.

Credits. Your monthly AI credit balance (25 on Free, 500 on Pro) pays for AI Panel runs and optional AI assists. Your Panel recruiting does not draw credits. GenPop spends a separate prepaid balance in your GenPop wallet.

Packs you buy never expire. The monthly refresh tops you to your plan ceiling. If you are unsure what a run will cost, check Pricing and the FAQ before you launch an AI Panel.

Settings. Workspace‑level controls live in tabs for General, Team, Billing, Panels, and Integrations. That covers members and viewers, integrations (including the MCP connector key), calendar connection for live sessions, and account preferences.

The owner invites people from Settings as members or viewers. Members share studies, AI credits, and the GenPop wallet. Viewers can look at results and do not count toward the member limit. Free includes 3 members. Pro and Custom are unlimited.

Day‑one clicks

  1. Check the Credits bar in the sidebar: it shows your balance against your plan limit.
  2. Open Settings once so you know where Integrations and invites live, even if you skip MCP today.
  3. Create or open a Project for the decision you care about. If you start a study first, the product places it for you.
  4. Resist recruiting real people before you have previewed the study and, ideally, run a simulated pass. Chapters 4 and 5 walk that order.

Members vs going alone

You can complete day one alone. When a teammate needs to see results without burning a member seat, invite them as a viewer. When they need to build and run, invite them as a member and remember that credits and GenPop wallet are shared.
