Chapter 9 of 10
Use it from your AI tool
Optional day-one path: connect User Sage over MCP and plan (or run) research from the tool you already live in.
User Sage speaks MCP (Model Context Protocol). You generate a key in workspace Settings under Integrations, add the server URL and key to your AI tool, and ask in your own words. New studies created this way are drafts for you to review. Anything that spends credits or wallet funds should confirm with you first.
Connect on any plan. What the tool is allowed to do depends on Free vs Pro.
Free vs Pro over MCP
- Free: your AI tool can plan studies with you and list Briefs.
- Pro: full create, run, and read: draft and duplicate studies, run AI Panels, recruit, summarize findings, and work with Projects, simulated people, and panels from chat.
See Pricing if you need the current boundary in one place.
Keys, safety, revoke
Name a key, generate it, and copy it once. Treat it like a password: never commit it to a repo or paste it into a public channel. A key only opens your workspace, nothing else. You can revoke it anytime in Settings, which cuts off access right away. Keys are not meant to edit or delete existing studies, simulated people, or panels in bulk. Spending actions stay behind confirmations. If a key leaks, revoke and generate a new one.
Setup guides (Connectors)
Confirmed connectors with a paste‑in key (open each from the Guides Connectors section; follow the live slug on that index):
- Muse
- Cursor
- Claude
- VS Code
- Grok Bot - desktop app (Add Bot), not the Grok web or mobile chat app.
Some tools only support sign‑in to a service instead of pasting a key. That path is not supported yet. If you try a tool that is not listed, email hello@usersage.com and say what you see.
Step‑by‑step placement of the URL and key lives in each connector guide. This chapter is the product overview. Those pages are the install manuals.
Day‑one advice
If you already work in Cursor, Claude, Muse, VS Code, or Grok Bot, connect after your first manual study so you recognize what the tool is creating. If chat‑native research is why you showed up, connect on day one, stay on Free while you plan, and upgrade when you want the tool to create and run for you.
