Guides / Connectors

VS Code
Turn VS Code into your research assistant. Connect your User Sage workspace and plan studies, draft tests, run panels and read findings from Copilot Chat without leaving the editor. Connect on any plan. See pricing for what's included.
How to connect
Step 1
Get your User Sage key
In User Sage, open Workspace settings, then the Integrations tab and MCP connector. Name the key (for example, VS Code), click Generate key, and copy it.
Step 2
Add User Sage to VS Code
Open the Command Palette with Ctrl+Shift+P or Cmd+Shift+P and run MCP: Open User Configuration. Add a server named user-sage that connects over HTTP to mcp.usersage.com/mcp and sends an Authorization header of Bearer followed by your key. To keep the key out of the file, add a password input with the id user-sage-api-key and use ${input:user-sage-api-key} in the header. Save the file.
Step 3
Test it
Open Copilot Chat with Ctrl+Alt+I or Ctrl+Cmd+I, switch to Agent mode, and ask What Briefs do I have in User Sage? VS Code prompts once for the API key, so paste the key from step 1. If it answers, even with an empty list, you are connected.

“Design review flagged our empty state on a Friday. I built a preference test from Copilot Chat, ran a small panel over the weekend, and had real feedback for Monday's review instead of just my own opinion.”
