Plan your next study from the AI tool you already use.

MCP is an open standard that lets the AI assistant you already use work with other apps. Connect yours to User Sage, ask a research question in chat and get a Study Brief back, then create, run and read studies without leaving the conversation.

How it fits together.

Three pieces, set up once. Then the assistant you already chat with can work in your research workspace.

  • Your AI tool

Where you already ask questions and get work done. There are setup guides for Muse, Grok Bot, Claude, Cursor and VS Code.

  • The connector

A key you generate in User Sage links your AI tool to one workspace. You can revoke it anytime.

  • Your User Sage workspace

Your Briefs, studies and results. Everything your AI tool plans comes with a link to open it here.

What you can do from chat.

Ask in your own words. Copy an example to try it once you're connected.

Step-by-step setup for each tool is in the setup guides.

Plan

Turn a question into a plan you can act on.

  • Plan a study

Turns your research question into a Study Brief: a recommended method and why, a drafted study, who to ask, and a link to open it in User Sage.

  • See your Briefs

Lists your Briefs, newest first, each with a link to open it.

Build and run

Get a study ready and get people taking it.

  • Create a study

Drafts a study in any of the seven methods for you to review.

  • Duplicate a study

Copies a study so you can run it again or try a variation.

  • Run an AI Panel

Runs the study with Simulated people for a quick first read.

  • Recruit real participants

Shows your options for a study, turns on a share link for Your Panel, or recruits screened real participants through GenPop Panel.

  • Make personas and AI Panels

Saves a persona you describe and builds a panel of Simulated people from it.

Read results

Bring what you learned back into the chat.

  • Pull findings

Summarizes what a study found, with Simulated people and real participants reported separately.

  • Read responses

Pages through individual responses when you need specific quotes.

  • Find your studies and Projects

Finds studies by name or topic, and reads a Project with its findings and linked studies.

It asks before it acts.

The connector is built so your AI tool checks with you, and your existing work stays as it is.

Asks before spending

Anything that uses AI credits or wallet funds is confirmed with you before it runs.

Drafts first

New studies are created as drafts. You review them before anyone takes them.

Leaves your work alone

It can't edit or delete your existing studies, personas or panels. To try a change, it makes a copy.

Keeps sources apart

Results from Simulated people and real participants are reported separately, and a simulated result is labeled 'not evidence'.

Your key, your call

A key reaches one workspace and is shown once. Revoke it anytime in Settings and access stops.

Says what your plan covers

If you ask for something your plan doesn't include, you get a plain answer and a link, not an error.

Connect in three steps.

Connecting gives your AI tool a key to your User Sage workspace, so it can work there when you ask.

You set it up once. Each tool's guide walks you through it.

  1. Step 1: Get your key in User Sage

Open Workspace settings, go to Integrations and generate a key on the MCP connector card. Copy it, since it's shown once.

    Open Integrations
  2. Step 2: Add User Sage to your AI tool

Ask Muse to connect to your User Sage MCP. When it asks, paste your key and the server address shown on the same settings card.

    Open the Muse guide
  3. Step 3: Ask your first question

In a new chat, ask this. If your AI tool answers, even with an empty list, you're connected.

See it in the lab.

Your AI tool is one stop on the lab, where a Checkout redesign study runs from Brief to decision.

Questions about MCP.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets the AI assistant you already use work with other apps. Connecting User Sage lets it plan studies and work with your research in your User Sage workspace.

Which AI tools work with User Sage?

There are setup guides for Muse, Grok Bot, Claude, Cursor and VS Code. Claude Code works too, with the same key. Some tools only let you sign in to a service instead of pasting a key, which we don't support yet, so they may not connect. Tried another one? Tell us at hello@usersage.com.

Which plans can connect?

Connect on any plan. See pricing for what's included.

Do I need to be technical to set it up?

No. You copy a key from User Sage and paste it into your AI tool, and each setup guide shows you exactly where it goes. You set it up once.

Is my key safe? What if it leaks?

A key reaches your workspace alone, and you can revoke it anytime in Settings, which cuts off access right away. Treat it like a password and never share it or post it anywhere public. If a key leaks, revoke it and generate a new one.

Can it change my existing studies?

No. It can't edit or delete your existing studies, personas or panels. It can create new draft studies for you to review, or make a copy of a study to try a change.

Does it treat Simulated people as real participants?

No. Findings report Simulated people and real participants separately, and a simulated result is labeled 'not evidence'. When a decision matters, confirm it with real participants through Your Panel or GenPop Panel.
